Thank you 2017
As I sit here and reflect on 2017, I can only smile. In a short amount of time you all have made my dream of providing scholarship and mentors to the Fort Wayne community a reality. I realize how blessed I am to have so many people support and believe in my vision. I am grateful for each of you. I can not thank you enough! In 2017 over $4,000 was awarded in scholarships, a Mac lap top computer awarded to a top scholar, several hours of mentoring/ volunteering, and a successful back to school event hosted (Not to brag BUT people are STILL talking about our event and waiting for 2018 sign up). The sponsorship page has been updated. Please visit and find your name. It's a small token of appreciate and recognition to those who have helped the Emmary Butler Foundation reach new heights!! Thank you again and I look forward to 2018!!

PACE Mentoring
Marquita and Gyneiya met less than a month ago and their relationship has already flourished! Gyneiya and I met during New Haven High School career day. She expressed her interest in social work with me and was looking for a mentor. I posted a Facebook status asking my friends if anyone was in the field. Marquita replied within minutes, and I'm glad that she did! Marquita contacted Gyneiya and they met for lunch to get to know each other. Marquita sent me feedback that her and Gyneiya was a perfect match and that she looked forward to being her mentor. During one of their many weekly talks, Gyneiya shared that she was accepted into Indiana State! Of course the duo went out to celebrate!! Keeping me abreast, Marquita shared the exciting news stating, "Thank you for linking me with Gyneiya!! She makes me proud! She got accepted into Indiana State!!". During lunch Gyneiya shared, "Having Marquita as a mentor has given me more courage, motivation, and guidance. Marquita has shown that she cares and I am blessed to have her."
I'm excited to see what the future holds for them!! Thanks so much for sharing your story. In celebration of your accomplishment of being accepted into college, the Emmary Butler Foundation will be awarding you a $500 scholarship for the 2018/2019 school year!! Congratulations and good luck with all of your future endeavors, Gyneiya!!
