Hearing “I want to go to Xavier” is music to my ears! Sydney and I met last fall while she was volunteering at the African American Health Alliance Scholarship Ball. Although we were only able to speak briefly, I could tell that she was extremely bright. Sydney is a recent graduate from Homestead High School where she graduated in the top of her class. With dreams of becoming a trauma surgeon, Sydney will attend Xavier University of Louisiana this fall!! Sydney and I met recently where we were able to discuss her goals and she was rewarded a laptop from our foundation in acknowledgment of her hard work and commitment to the community.
